Where are you originally from?
I was born and raised in a small town named Toccoa in Georgia. I moved to Nebraska seven years ago to pursue my career.
Tell us about your family:
As the oldest of six siblings, family is very important to me and we are all very close. I try to travel often to visit them as most of them still live in Georgia. My husband Jack and his family are here in Lincoln.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I have a myriad of hobbies which include reading, traveling, sewing, fishing, scuba diving, and many more.
What is your favorite movie or TV show?
I love all genres of film and television from The Office to documentaries.
What has been your favorite and/or most memorable vacation?
I love to travel and when I was in undergrad I had a couple of opportunities to study abroad during the summer. Once in Scotland and the other in Spain. Both trips were amazing. I was able to step out of my comfort zone and see how different and wonderful other cultures can be.
How did you become interested in the investment/financial planning profession?
I kind of stumbled into this profession. My background is mainly in the Arts and Customer Service. However, I’m a firm believer that the more skills you possess the more marketable you are. I try to look at life’s problems optimistically. Every choice you make; right or wrong is leading you to the next thing. So, don’t be afraid to take a step.
If you could do anything else for a living what would it be?
My dream job would be an Archeologist, Marine Biologist, or Historian.
