The Pets of P&A – Stella and Lucky

Hello friends of P&A!  My name is Stella – I am a Golden Retriever and just over 9 years old. I am the loyal friend and pet of Blake, Emmy, Violet, Oliver, and Hazel Anderson. You might also know me as the sister (littermate) of Pete – the household pet of Dan and Sue.

Most days you can find me lounging around the house, finding different places to nap.  When I’m not relaxing around the house, I enjoy a long walk around the neighborhood or sitting out on the front patio with Blake & Emmy while they have coffee on a crisp weekend morning.  Sometimes they forget to invite me out to the patio, but I’ve found a good, loud, single bark gets their attention.

I am the second Golden Retriever that Blake & Emmy have owned since they were married. I have followed in the pawprints of Asta (the best darn dog there has ever been), who they brought home shortly after they were married and served as the perfect training companion for the responsibility of kids that came a few years later. Although Asta left some big paws to fill, I think I’m doing a pretty good job. I do my best to keep our yard free of those pesky squirrels and the neighborhood foxes don’t even phase me.

Finally, I would be remiss if I did not mention my housemate, Lucky the cat. It would be difficult for anyone to call Lucky a “beloved” pet, but nonetheless she is part of our family, and we tolerate her. She joined our family in 2023 and as you can see from the picture below, she tends to invade my personal space, including multiple attempts to commandeer my dog bed. Blake has begrudgingly become accustomed to Lucky’s 5am shenanigans (jumping up on the headboard of their bed, banging around the window shades, knocking over water glasses, etc.), which now serve as his daily alarm clock.
