Hard work, family, and integrity shaped who I am while growing up in Wisconsin, and they continue to guide my approach to financial planning today. At the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, those values carried into the classroom and onto the football field as a Husker student-athlete. It was also at UNL where I met my wife, Kelly, a former Husker volleyball player, while picking up our N Cards on the very first day of school. Some decisions make themselves.
Competing at the Division I level taught me that adversity is inevitable, and how you respond to it defines you. Navigating injuries firsthand gave me a deep appreciation for what it feels like to face uncertainty, and ultimately fueled my drive to help others move through it with clarity and confidence. After college, I joined a firm in Minneapolis working with both individual and corporate retirement plan clients, a foundation that led me to Pittenger & Anderson in 2023, where I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional.
As a financial advisor at P&A, I work with clients at every stage of their financial journey. That might mean building a retirement income strategy, working through Social Security and Medicare decisions, navigating stock options and RSUs during peak earning years, or helping someone find their footing after an inheritance or sudden wealth event. Every client situation is different, and finding the right path forward for each one is what draws me to this work every day. P&A’s fee-only fiduciary model means the advice always starts and ends with what is best for the client, a standard I believe in and one that brought me to this team.
Outside the office, you will likely find me exploring new restaurants, catching Husker football and volleyball games, or spending time with friends and family, with our yellow lab pup, Rye, never far behind. I enjoy building and refining computers and have a genuine interest in watches, both collecting them and building custom pieces. Kelly and I have also put together a retro-themed bourbon and music room at home, complete with a vintage stereo, speakers, and turntable. There is something about the patience and attention to detail those hobbies require that translates perfectly to the work I do for clients every day.
