Complimentary Services

Our investment management and financial planning clients gain access to an array of complimentary services, including those listed below.

We encourage our clients to get as much work out of us as they can.

Annual Medicare drug plan review & Medicare enrollment assistance

Our two State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) counselors can review your current Medicare coverage (Nebraska residents only) for potential savings, or help you enroll in Medicare around your 65th birthday.

Review your investment accounts held away from P&A, including employer retirement plan account (401k, 403b, etc.) and 529 savings accounts

Ensure your 401(k), 403(b), SIMPLE IRA, SEP-IRA, HSA, and 529 accounts are properly allocated.  We’ll offer our thoughts on the funds you own and propose any changes given your time horizon, comfort level with risk, and your overall goals.

Help you establish a donor-advised fund (DAF) to stretch your charitable impact

This charitable checkbook offers several tax advantages that allow your charitable dollars to go further.  These work especially well with a bunching strategy.

Help you challenge any IRMAA premiums

We can help you appeal your Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount premium for Medicare Part B and D.  Here’s more info about challenging your IRMAA premium.

Facilitate Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD) from your IRA account

If you’re over the age of 70.5, you can donate up to $105,000 (for 2024) from your IRA account to charities.  QCDs count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) which makes them valuable tax planning tools.

Review your life insurance policies and annuity contracts

If you have existing life insurance policies or annuities in force, our licensed Insurance Consultant can review your options and help you understand the total fees you’re paying.  Here’s more about insurance and annuity reviews.

Track Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) for traditional and Inherited IRAs

IRS rules around required distributions have changed in recent years.  Let us keep on top of these for you so you avoid the steep penalties for not properly taking RMDs.

Offer to meet with your next generation

To help ensure an eventual smooth transition of family assets to the next generation, and more importantly, to help the next gen understand the values that led to these assets, we can customize educational sessions and conversations.

Help you analyze your Social Security benefits for maximization & timing

When to file for Social Security retirement benefits is a complex decision involving several factors, including life expectancy, income needs, and personal preference.  We can help you understand your options and illuminate common misperceptions about receiving benefits.

Collaborate with your accountant & estate planning attorney

If you’d like us to work with your accountant on tax-related matters and/or your attorney for estate planning items, we are happy to do so.  The synergies gained from these meetings are beneficial for all parties involved.
